Giving someone the benefit of the doubt is one of the best things you can do for not only your relationship with this person, but also for your mental wellbeing.
When we take things personally - comments that we said in jest, innocuous remarks, or flat-out criticism (ugh, so rude!) - that can affect us for the entire day.
